July and August round -up

The summer is rushing past and here  we are, still arguing about the final decoration for our new Boy & Girl, but the good news is  I think,  that at last  the final choice has been painted,  fired in the kiln  and agreed on,  so very soon  we should have a photograph to put  onto  the website!   Meanwhile  after rather too long a gap for illness & moving , Tarquin  has been painting again and we at last  have enough of his studio pots to make a complete window display  here in Rye.  I am adding in  a couple of his bowls to give you an idea of what he is working on at the moment

Throughout the summer months we do try and have as varied a display of Rye Pottery as possible, so although we  are no longer producing sets of table ware we do still make jugs in 3 sizes as well as mugs and sugar bowls- all hand painted in  the evergreen cottage stripes or in our Hop pattern or even sometimes in a charming red currant design.

Finally we have asked Tony Bennett to start work on our penultimate Canterbury Pilgrim,  which we are hoping to have   available for Christmas!

LETTERED & COMMEMORATIVE WARE

We are working on a new page for the site showing some of our specially  lettered and commemorative pieces both past & present, but just as a short item  we are putting  some of the standard lettered ware designs on this news page.

We do ask that you allow us 4-6 weeks for lettered pieces- each pot is of course, painted especially so that nothing can be done in advance of an order!

We also ask THAT YOU PUT ORDERS IN WRITING please -  so that we can avoid spelling errors as much as possible
