The Rye Zebra

As all Zebra afficionados know, no two Zebras are ever the same. And this is a classic example of where our hand-painting comes to the fore and reinforces our take on the natural world.

Straight lines, or even Zebra-style lines, are incredibly difficult to paint free-hand, particularly as we paint onto raw, unfired glaze. It’s kind of like painting onto cake icing or blotting paper. The glaze absorbs the colour immediately, which means there’s no room for error.

So sit back and reminisce about those trips to the plains and mountains of Africa.
